CircLean invites stakeholders to the first Network & Management Board meeting

Increased industrial symbiosis transactions in the EU is one of the objectives of the European Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan. The CircLean Network mobilises industry and other stakeholders to contribute to this objective by promoting and facilitating the secondary raw materials transactions. The initiative is promoted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) in cooperation with Technopolis Group, Trinomics, International Synergies, and Arctik.

The first CircLean Network meeting: 30 September 2021

The first CircLean Network meeting will gather Network members and other interested organisations from industry, businesses, public authorities, and research entities. The event will be held online on the 30 September from 9am to 1pm. All registered participants will receive login details upon registration (see below).

On the agenda

The event will be structured in two parts, the first open to all interested stakeholders and the second for registered Network members only.

The first part of the event includes a series of interesting sessions, starting with the opening of the European Commission who will update the audience about her ambition for industrial symbiosis in the European Union. A set of roundtables will then provide the opportunity to engage into discussions with experts, Commission representatives and practitioners about the existing landscape of opportunities for supporting industrial symbiosis and on future actions. Participants will also get to know more about some very valuable experiences in the implementation of industrial symbiosis. Furthermore, the agenda includes an exclusive preview of the CircLean industrial symbiosis readiness self-assessment module and of the CircLean resource matching tool. Last, the CircLean Secretariat will present the benefits of becoming a member of the Network and guide participants through the application procedure.

The second part of the meeting is reserved to CircLean Members and will present the Network Charter that outlines the possible roles of the Management Board. Members in the Management Board will be able to influence more actively the future progress of the Network by bringing in their expertise and experience. Interactive polls will be introduced throughout this part of the meeting to stimulate a co-creation approach and active participation.
